Victim of Mulranny road tragedy named

THE man who died in a road tragedy at Mulranny on Wednesday morning has been named as Brian Anthony Farren (51), a chef who was based locally.

Mr. Farren, who worked in Nevin's Restaurant, Mulranny, lived at Roskeen, Newport, about two miles away.

He was originally from Dalkey, Co. Dublin, where his heartbroken parents, Monica and Christy, still reside.

The deceased was after dropping one of his children to school in Westport when his car went off the road and collided with a parked trailer at around 9 a.m yesterday.

Apart from his parents, Mr. Farren is survived by his children, Anthony and Rianach, sisters, Gillian and Joanne, and his fiancee, Vanessa.

A post-mortem has been carried out at Mayo University Hospital, Castlebar.

Mr. Farren's funeral will take place to Shanganagh Cemetery on Monday next (April 30) following Requiem Mass at 10 a.m in the Church of the Assumption, Dalkey.
