Thieves steal fishing rods at Lough Mask

SMASH and grab thieves have deprived a trout angler of his most prized possession – his fishing rods.

Three rods were stolen this week from a Northern Ireland registered Volkswagen Polo at Cappaghaduff, Tourmakeady, while the owner was in a boat fishing Lough Mask.

The rear window in the vehicle was smashed.

There have been a number of break-ins to vehicles in recent weeks at a number of picturesque locations in the west including Aasleagh Falls near Leenane.

Gardaí have once again warned of the dangers of leaving property visible in cars which are parked at scenic spots.
