Rochford makes just one change for Connaught semi-final

THE Mayo team to take on Galway in the Connaught SFC semi-final on Saturday evening (June 18) has been named.

Manager Stephen Rochford and his selectors make just one change to the team that started the quarterfinal against London in Ruislip, with Tom Parsons, now returned to fitness, taking a berth in midfield in place of Stephen Coen. Parsons will partner Jason Gibbons in the middle of the park.

Seamus O'Shea, Ger Cafferkey and Diarmuid O'Connor fail to make the starting 15 for the second game running, while Conor Loftus, who replaced the black-carded Cillian O'Connor early on in the London game, is also understood to be on the injured list.

The Mayo team is named as follows: Robbie Hennelly (Breaffy); Brendan Harrison (Aghamore), Kevin Keane (Westport), Keith Higgins (Ballyhaunis); Lee Keegan (Westport), Colm Boyle (Davitts), Patrick Durcan (Castlebar Mitchels); Tom Parsons (Charlestown), Jason Gibbons (Ballintubber); Kevin McLoughlin (Knockmore), Aidan O’Shea (Breaffy), Jason Doherty (Burrishoole); Evan Regan (Ballina Stephenites), Cillian O’Connor (Ballintubber, captain), Conor O’Shea (Breaffy).

It would come as no surprise, however, to see some changes to the named team before throw-in at 7 p.m. on Saturday evening in Elverys MacHale Park, Castlebar.
