Mayo GAA given extra week to finish senior championship

THE Connacht GAA Council has granted Mayo an extra week to complete its senior football championship.

The battle for the 2016 Moclair Cup has been delayed by Mayo’s involvement in the drawn and replayed All-Ireland finals.

At one point, fears were expressed that the county would not be represented in the provicnial club series.

Now Mayo champions’ provincial quarter-final against Tourlestrane has been pushed back by six days to Saturday, November 5.

This decision leaves Mayo with three weekends to run off the SFC quarter-finals, semi-finals and final.
