Father and son on Kiltimagh cup winning team

ON the weekend of the 'Coillte Come Home' festival in Kiltimagh, there was a very welcome visitor to the locality on Sunday evening as the Tuohy Cup travelled south-eastward with Kiltimagh/Knock United after the club defeated Crossmolina in the Tuohy Cup final in Solar Park 21, Milebush.

The destination of the cup was in much doubt until the hour mark when substitute Andy Leadbetter capitalised on a mistake to toe poke home what proved to be the winning goal.

For Andy it was a memorable and golden moment. He had watched from the bench as his son Matthew, and the rest of the Kiltimagh/United team failed to breach the Crossmolina the defence before been called into action.

His substitution proved a master-stroke by the Kiltimagh/Knock United management as not long after coming on Andy scored the only goal of the game and crowned them Tuohy Cup champions.

First to congratulate Andy was his son Matthew and no doubt it was a happy Leadbetter home on Sunday night with father and son displaying two cup final medals. Â
