Smart bread from the breadski brothers

AN Taoiseach, Enda Kenny, rolled up his sleeves to launch an exciting new bread brand - That Bread - from the intriguingly named Breadski Brothers in Castlebar.

That Bread is a range of three new breads with eye-catching contemporary branding. Currently available throughout Mayo, it will soon be seen in shops countrywide.

Speaking at the launch, Mr. Kenny said: “I have talked a lot in the last number of weeks of the recovery taking hold across Ireland and especially in regions outside our cities. I want to see a growth in jobs in every area of Ireland. Here in Castlebar, the MMM Family Bakery are a fantastic example of local innovation and job creation. Over the last number of years they have worked hard to become a significant local employer and play their part in Ireland’s recovery.

“This government will continue to support small business in every region. Congratulations to the brothers on their new venture.”

The Breadski Brothers are in fact three baking brothers - Magic, Mark and Martin Chlebicki. Originally from Poland, the brothers are experienced baking professionals who set up MMM Family Bakery in Castlebar in 2006.

The successful bakery employs 39 people and supplies a range of over 50 bread, pastry and cake products to more than 200 stores nationwide, mainly catering to the Polish market.

That Bread is their first product range tailored for the Irish market and extensive taste testing suggests it will be a successful venture. Ten new jobs will be created within 12 months and the first four new employees have already been recruited.

That Bread is branded bread with attitude. It’s nutritious, it looks good, it’s wholesome and it tastes great.

The three flavours currently available are ‘The White One with the Sunny Sesame Seeds’, ‘ The Brown One with the Toasted Pumpkin Seeds’ and ‘The Rye One with the Fresh Cranberries’. Each is available in a 400g sliced pan packed on a card tray, with a resealable clip, and in a handy two-slice pack, which is ideal for trying the new breads or for a quick lunch snack.

Each pack has a quirky ‘Breaducation’ leaflet with interesting facts about bread.

“We are very proud of That Bread - our new product range,” stated CEO Magic Chlebicki, one of the Breadski Brothers. “These are the first breads we have specifically created for the mainstream Irish palate and we are confident that they will be well received.

“That Bread from The Breadski Brothers is probably the smartest bread to date! The taste, packaging and brand were all created with meticulous details. We listened to feedback and suggestions from over 1,500 people and we like to think of it as smart bread from the inside out. We’ve been in the baking business a long time and we know how to bake delicious and nutritious bread that families will love.”

The Breadski Brothers are passionate about baking and committed to ‘Breaducation’ - spreading their authentic and responsible baking message to the world.

Part of their commitment is to make a sales-based donation to the Mary’s Meals charity, which sets up school feeding programmes in poverty stricken communities.

That Bread is available from nine SuperValu outlet across Mayo and Roscommon, in Westport, Castlebar, Ballinrobe, Claremorris, Kiltimagh, Ballyhaunis, Ballina, Achill, and Ballaghadereen. See www.thatbread.ie for details.
