Best of the summer weather will be in early june

It is safe to say that Irish weather and its unpredictability is a passionate subject, close to Irish people’s hearts. Sure isn’t it desperate outside, isn’t the drying good - these are some of the sayings many of us have grown up with.

We like to talk about it, a lot. No matter what the weather, we always have something to say.

In order to celebrate 60 years of protecting Irish homes, Dulux Weathershield and Ipsos MRBI have released the results of a brand new weather survey which looks at Irish people’s relationship with 'the weather’. The poll found that 60% of people talk about the weather at least twice a day, with a massive 24% admitting to talking about the weather at least four times a day.

New Zealander, Ken Ring, the astrologer famous for his Irish weather predictions, including the Irish heatwave in July 2013 and the harsh winter of 2010, was approached by Weathershield to give a sneak peak at what to expect from summer 2015.

Ken was asked to specifically look at County Mayo to predict the hottest spells. For the record, he says the highest temperatures will occur around August 19 to 23 when it'll be 25 °C. Other warm periods will be mid July and July 30 to August 2 and August 18 to September 1. The best summer spells will be the first half of June and from July 15 to 22.

May is forecast to be the wet month.
