File for dpp on balla stab incident

A MAN in his 30s has been questioned by gardaí following a stabbing incident in Balla on Sunday.

The victim, another male, was rushed by ambulance to Mayo General Hospital.

His injuries are said to be not life threatening.

The alarm was raised around 10.30 a.m. on Sunday by a caller who rang gardaí to alert them to an 'incident' in a house at Main Street, Balla.

One male was subsequently arrested and held for questioning. However, he was released later.

Gardaí say a file is being prepared for  the DPP.

The suspect and his alleged victim are understood to be related.
