Mayo properties perform well at july twoday allsop auction

ALLSOP recorded strong sales at a packed RDS on July 8 and 9, selling over 240 auction properties. Investment across the two days was over €39 million.

The catalogue contained a wide variety of properties in Mayo, offering a range of opportunities for both potential investors and owner occupiers.

Residential highlights included a stunning six-bedroom period house in Killala which sold for €230,000 - €30,000 above the reserve - and three one-bedroom apartments in Newport offered as one lot which sold after the auction. 

On the commercial side, the most valuable property in the catalogue, units 3 and 4 in Moyvalley Retail Park, Ballina, was sold prior to auction for a sum in excess of the quoted reserve range of €2.3 to €2.5m. The property is let to OPW and is the headquarters of the Road Safety Authority.

A range of three-bedroom family homes in locations such as Claremorris, Swinford and Ballina were also sold.

A detached three-bed house on the Knock Road, Claremorris, sold for €117,500 - €47,500 above the reserve and a three-bedroom bungalow with a reserve of €40,000 in Killlasser, Swinford, sold for €50,000 on the day, while a three-bedroom house on Clare Street in Ballina was sold prior to the auction.
