The late Melissa Patterson

Melissa memorial fund launched

THE sporting legacy of Melissa Patterson, whose life was cut short following a tragic traffic accident, is to live on through a new memorial fund.

The fund has been established to support sport in honour of her name, and has been launched just a week after the 18-year-old was laid to rest in Castlebar.

Melissa played football with distinction for her school, Davitt College, as well as Castlebar Mitchels and Castlebar Town FC.

The fund account has been set up at Bank of Ireland, Castlebar, and all donations can be made payable using the sort code 90 37 44 and account number 20757510. If you would like to donate online, please use IBAN number IE53BOFI90374420757510 and BIC number BOFIIE2D. Cheques can also be made payable by post to the Melissa Patterson Memorial Fund - please quote the account number 20757510 on the back of the cheque.

The committee members involved in the fund are Carmel Cusack, Belinda Patterson, Councillor Michael Kilcoyne, John Flanagan, Padraic McManamon, Bertie Dowling and John Regan.
