Bypass mooted for cong village

THE 'Quiet Man' hamlet of Cong on the Mayo/Galway border may be even quieter traffic wise in future because of longer term plans to bypass the village.

Paddy Mahon, director of services with Mayo County Council, says the possibility of a bypass needs to be explored.

“We need to take a serious look at how the village can be maintained as a very attractive destination.' Mr. Mahon told a Council meeting.
