It might be a bit wet in coming days.

The weather is achanging

AFTER a sustained dry period, the weather is about to get wet, Met Éireann is forecasting.

Scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle along Atlantic coastal counties tonight (Thursday) are set to become more persistent and widespread tomorrow evening. Highest temperatures will be 12 to 15 degrees in fresh and gusty southerly winds, with temperatures falling to 6 to 8 degrees at night.

Rain will clear east during Saturday morning followed by scattered showers, with good sunny spells developing. It will be fresher and cooler, however, with top temperatures of just 9 to 12 degrees in a moderate westerly breeze. Showers will continue during Saturday night, when westerly winds will back southwesterly and lowest temperatures will fall to between 2 and 6 degrees.

Sunday will be mostly dry, with some bright spells in the east, but it will become cloudy with rain along the west. The rain will become widespread and heavy on Sunday night in a freshening southerly breeze.

And Monday will be wet and windy, it is expected, with fresh to strong southeasterly winds and rain turning heavy, especially along the south and east coasts.

Monday night and early Tuesday will still be wet and windy but the rain is likely to gradually clear to scattered showers during Tuesday, with sunny spells developing.
