Mayo roads to receive €21.7m investment

MINISTER of State Michael Ring has confirmed that a sum of €21,725,574 is being allocated to Mayo County Council for road projects next year. 

The breakdown of schemes to be funded are as follows.

NATIONAL PRIMARY

HD15 and HD17 Minor Works

Charlestown By-Pass €100,000
N5 Castlebar to Bohola €100,000
Total National Primary Major Scheme: €200,000

NATIONAL SECONDARY

Westport to Turlough €9,042,000

Minister Ring stated: “The national road network is a key asset of our economy. I am delighted to see this significant funding being given to Mayo County Council.

“It is important that we continue to invest where it is needed so that we not only preserve the standard of our national roads network but we can work to preserve safety, reduce congestion and thereby increase economic output. I again welcome today’s announcement of funding.'
