The Sentinel nominated for architecture award

THE Sentinel sculpture, and its public realm space, in Westport has been nominated for the coveted Royal Institute of Architects of Ireland (RIAI) people’s choice award.

Located at Peter Street, the sculpture is among 50 plus projects shortlisted for this year’s RIAI Irish Architecture Awards. The list also includes Aldi Terenure, Humewood Castle, Waterford Fire Station and the Dublin Port Diving Bell.

Now in its ninth year, the popular RIAI Public Choice Award gives the public the opportunity to have their say by voting for their favourite shortlisted project.

You can vote for the Westport sculpture online on www.irisharchitectureawards.ie or through the RIAI Facebook page.

The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony at the Royal Hospital, Kilmainham, on Friday, June 24.
