Hells Bells doing what they do best.

Great rock 'n' roll weekend

FOR those about to rock, Garbo's in Castlebar is the place to be this bank holiday weekend.

The venue will host Europe’s best AC/DC tribute Hells Bells, on Saturday (June 4), while Led Zeppelin tribute act No Stairway will perform live the following night (Sunday, June 5) as part of the Finbar Hoban Presents series.

Formed in 1996 and hailing from Bristol, Hells Bells has evolved into perhaps the most well-known and professional AC/DC tribute band in the UK. Touring the length and breadth of Britain and Ireland for over 18 years, Hells Bells have built up a loyal following of fans.

The band play material from both the Bon Scott and Brian Johnson eras, covering four decades of classic no-nonsense, foot-stomping rock 'n' roll. From the blistering scream of the vocals, the duck-walks, the pounding rhythm and bass, and the frenzied schoolboy antics to the booming cannons and pyrotechnics at the finale, it's practically as good as the real thing.

No Stairway is comprised of four musicians with a love of Led Zeppelin who were brought together through Galway's Access Music project. In summer 2013 they started working on Led Zeppelin's back catalogue with the aim of making a show influenced by their studio albums and epic live performances.

The band is made up of Ronan O'Malley on guitar, Shane O'Malley on bass, keys and backing vocals, Bill Dunne on drums and backing vocals, and Galway singer-songwriter Steven Sharpe on lead vocals.

Tickets for this Garbo's rock weekender are on sale now and are available through usual outlets in Castlebar, including Downtown Records and Hogs Heaven Bar. For further information, visit finbarhobanpresents.com.
