Murder accused remanded on bail

A YOUTH charged with the murder of a teenager in Claremorris last December has been remanded on continuing bail to a sitting of the Central Criminal Court next May.

The accused, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is charged with the murder of a Lithuanian national, Dovydas Jenkas (17), Claremount Manor, Claremorris, at Claremount Manor on December 19 last.

At a sitting of the Central Criminal Court in Castlebar today (Tuesday), Judge Tony Hunt remanded the accused to May 16 next.

Mr. Michael Bowman, defence counsel, applied for the case to be put back. He said an expert report in relation to pathology is awaited.
