Death of former Castlebar hospital staff member

THE death has taken place of Noel King, Riverdale Court, Castlebar, a member of one of the town’s best known families.

A former member of the maintenance staff of St. Mary’s Hospital, he also ran his own painting and home decorating business for many years.

News of his passing has come as a great shock to the community where he was held in high regard as a courteous and affable personality.

He is survived by his wife Mary, sons Alan, Brendan and Tom, daughters Noelle, Jan, Irene and Amy, brother Des, sister Patricia Gaughan, 10 grandchildren and other relatives and friends, to whom sympathy is tendered.

The committee of Castlebar Mitchels has this evening expressed its sincere condolences to the bereaved family.

The late Mr. King’s daughter, Noelle Murphy, is secretary of the club’s Bord na nÓg while his son Tom starred for the club’s senior side that reached the All-Ireland senior club final in 2015.

The remains of the deceased will be reposing at Kilcoyne’s Funeral Home tomorrow (Monday) evening from 6 to 8 p.m.

Burial takes place in the New Cemetery on Tuesday following Requiem Mass for the repose of his soul at 11 a.m. in the Church of the Holy Rosary,
