VIDEO: Family of missing Mayo woman welcome inquest progress

MEMBERS of the Collins family, Killala, have welcomed the news that gardaí are preparing a file for the Coroner's Court in the case of their missing sister, Sandra Collins, who is believed to have died 16 years ago.

Patrick Collins and Bridie Conway gave their reaction to the development when interviewed by RTE News this evening.

The family released previously unseen video images of Ms. Collins as part of a renewed appeal for information on the case.

Sandra Collins vanished in the village of Killala in December 2000.

The family asked the Mayo coroner to hold an inquest as this would allow witnesses to give evidence in public and the Collins family say this would greatly assist them in learning what happened to their sister.

It is understood the gardaí are now preparing a file for the coroner.
