Bus Eireann launch new route services to Ireland West Airport

IRELAND West Airport has welcomed the announcement by Bus Eireann of the introduction of a new and enhanced route 440 bus timetable connecting towns and villages in Mayo with Ireland West Airport.

The new timetable, which came into effect on June 25, will see enhanced and additional daily bus services available between Westport and towns and villages in Mayo along the corridor with the airport.

Up to six daily return services to and from Westport will now operate to and from the airport, calling at towns and villages in Claremorris, Knock, Kilkelly, Ballyhaunis, Charlestown, Swinford, Bohola, Ballyvary, Manulla, Balla, Castlebar, Islandeady and Westport

These new services will be a welcome boost and will provide enhanced access between towns and villages in Mayo and Ireland West Airport. 

Commenting on this news, Joe Gilmore, managing director, Ireland West Airport, said: “We are delighted to welcome the new and enhanced Route 440 Bus Eireann schedule. Towns and villages in Mayo on the Route 440 corridor will now enjoy increased transport options to and from the airport on a daily basis, providing great flexibility for passengers travelling on the 24 destinations to the UK and Europe offered by the airport. 

“In addition this will provide enhanced travel options for over 100,000 visitors travelling to the region from our overseas markets, who visit Mayo each year.
