Pilgrims walk from Northern Ireland to Knock Shrine

OVER 260 people have walked to Knock from Derry and Belfast.

The walkers were part of the Cursillo Peace Pilgrimage which has been taking place for the past 30 years and is organised by Derry Diocese.

The purpose of the pilgrimage was  ‘To Pray for Peace in our Hearts, our Homes, Our Country and the World.'

The walkers departed on July 19 and arrived in Knock yesterday (Sunday).

Hundreds more pilgrims from Belfast, Cork and Dublin participated in their own Cursillo Walks and joined the Derry pilgrims at Knock on Sunday for the concluding Mass  in the Basilica.Â
