Mayo hotel's revival continues unabated

THE revival of the Welcome Inn Hotel, now known as the Ivy Tower Hotel, is continuing unabated.

Hotel proprietor Thomas McHugh has made application to the annual licencing district court in September for public dance hall licences in respect of the Failte Suite, the Bilberry Lounge and the Mantra ballroom at the New Antrim Street establishment.

Mr. McHugh recently staged a teenage disco in Mantra and it attracted a capacity crowd (as featured in a photograph on social media platforms), with a queue outside a premises that had been closed for 14 months up until recent times.

The premises is now also serving food on a daily basis.
