Manulla Ladies celebrate their FAI Women's Intermediate Cup victory this afternoon.

Special day for Manulla

A HAT trick from player of the match Jessica Nolan and a penalty from striker Hannah Flatley saw Manulla capture the FAI Women's Intermediate Cup in Jackman Park, Limerick, this afternoon with a 4-1 victory over Cork's Lakewood Athletic in a thrilling final.

Nolan hit not one but two goal of the season contenders, the first a strike from 25 yards after just 11 minutes of play and the second from 30 yards out 11 minutes into the second half.

It wasn't all about Manulla's prowess going forward, however, as Simone Fernandez was outstanding in goal, keeping a talented Lakewood side at bay on numerous occasions.

The celebrations can't go on for too long as Manulla face the might of Wexford Youths next Sunday in round two of the WFAI Senior Cup. These are heady times indeed for Manulla Ladies.
