Westport mourns sudden passing of Neill O'Neill

THE death has occurred suddenly of Neill O'Neill, managing editor of the Mayo News.

A popular and well-known figure in Westport, Mr. O'Neill, 36, took ill and died at his home this morning (Tuesday).

Respected as a journalist and more recently as managing editor of the Mayo News, he was also deeply involved with Westport Chamber of Commerce for the past number of years.

Full of life, he was great fun and was always good company.

He is survived by his partner, Emma Joyce, parents Colam and Mary, brothers Conor and Finbarr, sisters Aoife and Orla, extended family, friends and colleagues in the Mayo News, to whom sympathy is extended.
