Man who died in Castlebar fire tragedy is named

THE man who died yesterday following a fire at his apartment at Erris Flats, Castle Street, Castlebar, has been named as Martin Costello, formerly of 44 Riverdale Court, Castlebar.

Aged 42, his passing has evoked a huge sense of loss and sorrow in the town.

He was a son of Joe and Nora Costello and he is also survived by his brothers John, Declan, Raymond and Clive, sister Lorraine, nephew Jack, aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives, neighbours and many friends, to whom deepest sympathy is tendered.

His remains will be reposing at Kilcoyne's Funeral Home, Thomas Street, tomorrow (Monday) evening from 6 p.m. with removal at 8 p.m. to the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar, arriving at 8.30pm.

Requiem Mass takes place on Tuesday at 11 a.m. and the deceased will be laid to rest with his grandparents in Old Cemetery, Castlebar.
