'Fare' play to Ralph and Lynx Taxis

STUDENTS cash-strapped after a night out in Castlebar are being offered lifts home by two thoughtful local taxi companies.

Ralph Taxis and Lynx Taxis are operating the initiative, which has been greatly welcomed by students and their parents.

Says Ken Ralph: “Sometimes we come across students who might be unable to pay after a night out.

“Rather than risk them walking home sometimes on dark and rainy nights we invite them to hop in.

“All the youngsters need to do is produce their student identity card.

“Usually we don't even hold on to the ID until payment is made as we know the majority of students and trust them.”
