Castlebar mourns passing of much-loved personality

THE death has taken place of Bernadette Redmond (née Flanagan), McHale Road, Castlebar, and formerly of Loughtavarry, Ballyvary, Castlebar.

Better known as Bernie, she is survived by her husband Andy, sons David and Stephen, granddaughter Hailey, David's partner Michelle, Steven's partner Mairead, her brothers John and Tommy (Loughtavarry), her sister Bridie Lavelle (Bohola), brothers-in-law Joe and Paul Redmond, sisters-in-law Annette Quinn, Mary Morahan, Loretta Redmond, Angela Flanagan and Mairead Flanagan, aunt Ann (Flushing New York). nephews, nieces, cousins, work colleagues in Baxter, neighbours and many friends, to whom sympathy is tendered.

Bernie worked in Travenol Laboratories for many years and was an employee of Baxter S.A. in Castlebar. She was 59 years of age.

News of her passing has evoked an immense sense of loss and sorrow in the community.

Her remains will be reposing at Kilcoyne's Funeral Home, Thomas Street, Castlebar,  tomorrow (Tuesday) evening from 6 o’clock with removal at 8 o’clock to the Church of the Holy Rosary, arriving at 8.30 p.m. 

Requiem Mass takes place on Wednesday at 11 o’clock with burial afterwards in the New Cemetery.
