Gardaí probe break-in at leading Mayo garden centre

AN overnight break-in to Horkan's Garden Centre, Turlough, Castlebar, bears all the signs of being a highly professional operation.

Foam, as well as wire cutters, was used to disable burglar alarms.

An undisclosed sum of money was taken.

The break-in occurred sometime between the hours of 6 p.m yesterday (Tuesday) when the complex closed, and 7 a.m today.

Gardai believe those involved are highly organised and may be responsible for other recent similar thefts throughout the country, including a break-in to a petrol filling station in Louisburgh.

Gardaí at Castlebar (094) 22222 would welcome any information about suspicious activity in the Turlough (N5) area overnight or early this morning.
