Biker injured after colliding with a bridge near Partry

A MOTORCYLIST was airlifted to hospital after his bike collided with a bridge on the Partry to Westport road.

The single vehicle impact occurred at Derrin Bridge around 3.55 p.m. yesterday.

The injured person – a male - was flown to University College Hospital, Galway, by helicopter.

He is native of Poland but has been living in Loughrea for some time.

He is said to be making a good recovery from his injuries.

The Partry to Westport road was closed for some time because of the collision.
