Row over plan to close post office in Ballindine
A ROW has erupted over the decision of An Post to shut down the post office in Ballindine.
Mayo Fine Gael Senator Michelle Mulherin has issued an appeal to the company to reconsider its decision in view of the inconvenience it will cause to over 150 pensioners in the locality.
She said the facility is scheduled to close on August 10 with elderly people expected to travel to Claremorris or Milltown to pick up their weekly pensions.
"I think it is very unfair of An Post to take this action and it shows a lack of consideration to a community that deserves better," she added.
