Two injured in Mayo road crash

A MOTORCYCLIST and the driver of a car were both hospitalised when their vehicles collided on the Westport Road, Castlebar, yesterday evening, it has been confirmed.

Emergency vehicles attended the scene of the impact which occurred around 7 p.m. on the N5 at Cosgrove's Garage.

Both of the injured persons are understood to be living locally. The male driver of the car is in his fifties while the injured biker, also a male, is in his thirties.

The injuries sustained by both men are understood not to be life-threatening.
