Mayo GAA fans anxious over New York game tickets

HUNDREDS of Mayo GAA fans will be travelling to the US in May for the county's opening round Connacht SFC match against New York.

The secretary of the Connacht GAA Council said the organisation will shortly be considering a ticket plan for the fixture at Gaelic Park on May 5.

However John Prenty did not rule out tickets being sold on a 'first come, first served' basis on the day of the match at the venue.

If this proves to be the case. then it could lead to concerns among travelling fans that they may not gain access to the ground which is reported to have a capacity of 2,000.

According to some estimates, the numbers of Mayo fans with plans in place to attend the fixture are already close to exceeding that number.
