Castlebar restaurant in Best Brunch finals

IRISH Dairy - The Complete Natural has announced the finalists for the Irish Brunch Awards, which will be held as part of the Irish Breakfast Awards in Dublin on February 19.

The finalist restaurants are based all over Ireland and garnered the most nominations from the public vote.

The Best Brunch venues shortlist includes one Mayo restaurant - House of Plates in Castlebar.

Taking place at the InterContinental Hotel, the Irish Breakfast Awards celebrate the finest Irish food producers and those who take special pride in preparing and serving the best breakfasts, and brunches, in Ireland, to domestic and international visitors as well as locals and regulars.

The Complete Natural Brunch Award is one of multiple categories at the Irish Breakfast Awards, all assessed independently and nominated by Georgina Campbell’s renowned team of assessors.

Said Georgina Campbell: “This is the first time that a Georgina Campbell award has been open to public participation and we’re delighted with the response. Nominations came from all over the country and, like brunch itself, were fascinating in their diversity.

Of all meals, this is the one that best reflects modern Ireland and its flexible timing, relaxed approach and wide-ranging menu base. The high calibre of nominations made creating a shortlist challenging but our five finalists convey the essence of the ideal brunch in both urban and rural areas."
