Ball from '51 All-Ireland final to go on display

THE ball used in the 1951 All-Ireland football final - the last time Mayo won - is going on display in Ballina later this week.

The football was subsequently donated to Behy National School by Fr. Peter Quinn, who played on the winning team.

Mayo North, on their Facebook page, have reported that the football will be on display from March 1 to 16 in the Jackie Clarke Collection in Ballina, where you can visit the Seomra Ranga, and bring yourself back in time to a 1950s classroom.

Thanks was extended to the Quinn family and Behy NS for sharing this treasure with the public.
