Weather hampering Lough Mask search operation

WINDSWEPT conditions are hampering the search operation at Lough Mask for an angler missing since Friday.

The search and rescue groups involved in the operation opted to stand down the water search today due to the blustery winds and gusts as well as dangerous cross currents.

A boat was found during yesterday's search for the man in his 70s who did not return home after he went fishing for a number of hours on Friday.

The search, coordinated by Corrib/Mask Search and Rescue with An Garda Siochana and other agencies, is being concentrated today along the shoreline of Cushlough Bay.

The weather is promised better tomorrow and the water search will resume.
