McStay tips Monaghan to upset Mayo's final hopes

FORMER Mayo GAA star Kevin McStay has tipped Monaghan to upset his native country in tomorrow's final round of the Allianz National League at Elverys MacHale Park, Castlebar.

In his analysis on the RTÈ Radio One programme, Saturday Sport, this afternoon, he said he fancies Tyrone to reach the decider against Kerry.

For this to happen, Kerry must avoid defeat against Roscommon, Tyrone must beat Galway and Monaghan must overcome Mayo.

The ex-Roscommon manager said: "I think Mayo need to have the hunger to advance.

"They have made a lot of changes again and Monaghan will see this as a chance to be taken.

"Monaghan's status is on the line and I can see them doing themselves and Tyrone a favour."
