Fans warned of potential ticket touting ahead of match

A WARNING has been issued to Mayo GAA supporters arriving in New York without tickets for Sunday's Connaught SFC opener at Gaelic Park.

They are being advised not to purchase tickets offered to them in the city at prices above their face value as concerns grow over potential ticket touting due to unprecedented demand.

The matter is causing concern to many genuine followers who are anxious for the issue to be highlighted by the media.

Hundreds of Mayo fans have already arrived in New York without tickets and hundreds more will do so over the coming days.

They have been informed that tickets will be sold on a ‘first come first served’ basis at the ground from 8.30 a.m. on Sunday morning.

But a lack of uncertainty over the number of tickets available at the admission gate is leading to some anxiety among fans.

The GAA's general advice is never to purchase a match ticket over its face value which, in this case, is $30.
