Mayo train services back to normal after repair of fault

MAYO train services to and from Dublin are back to normal, Irish Rail has confirmed this afternoon.

It followed considerable disruption to services nationwide due to a signals fault at Heuston Station.

A spokesperson for Irish Rail said there were still some delays but none any longer than 30 minutes.

In most cases, however, schedules were now operating as normal.

The spokesperson said the fault was fundemental and unlikely to reoccur on a regular basis.
