Mayo children hit by delays in early intervention services

FRESH concerns have been raised over the ongoing delays to early intervention services for Mayo children.

Long waiting lists are delaying vital services to children across the county including occupational therapy, psychology and speech and language therapy.

Deputy Dara Calleary highlighted the issue which is causing great anxiety to many parents.

Minister of State Finian McGrath said he will be raising the matter with the HSE as a matter of urgency.

He added the government is committed to providing services and supports to people with disabilities which will empower them to live independent lives.
