The delighed Celtic players hoist the Tom Kelly Cup

Super Celtic are back on the throne in Mayo

Castlebar Celtic .... 5

Claremorris .......... 2

CASTLEBAR Celtic have been crowned Elverys Sports Super League champions for the first time since 2011, seeing off Claremorris with a clinical display in Celtic Park.

Any nerves Celtic fans may have had were eased after 15 minutes. Jason Hunt's cross was controlled superbly by Johnnie Cocozza, who teed up Jordan Loftus for a tap-in at close range.

It got even better two minutes later after Flatley's corner was bundled in by Stevie Ryan to double Celtic's lead.

The Claremorris backline were at sixes and sevens and Celtic added a third with only 25 minutes gone.

Jason Hunt threaded through a wonderful ball to Loftus, who finished superbly to send Celtic into dreamland.

Claremorris pulled one back on the half hour mark.

Ben Murphy's intended pass to Ryan was intercepted by Finnian Brady.

Rokas Mikuckis caught the Celtic defence napping and raced through to latch onto Brady's pass to finish well past Ultan McKenna to give the visitors a glimmer of hope going into the second half.

Celtic put the game beyond all doubt ten minutes into the second half with Loftus completing his hat trick.

Flatley added a fifth ten minutes later with Gavin Brady getting a consolation goal for Claremorris shortly after.

So, after what seemed like an eternity for them, the Hoops have got their hands back on the biggest prize in Mayo football.
