Holy Mayo village enhancements gone to tender

PROGRESS is being made on the enhancements to Knock village as the work has gone to tender.

The Minister for Rural and Comunity Development Michael Ring allocated funding of €100,000 toward village enhancements.

Work includes amenity work at the roundabout junction in Knock village, pedestrian and courtesy crossings, lighting and new paving.

Following substantial consultation with local groups the work has now gone to tender.

Minister Ring has been informed that a contractor will be appointed shortly and it is expected work will be completed in March 2020.

This follows on from the €100,000 allocated under the Town & Village Renewal Scheme 2017 to create a shared surface plaza in Knock.
