Funeral arrangements for Mayo native Mae Filan, mother of Westlife star Shane

THE death has occurred at the North West Hospice, Sligo, of Mae Filan (née Mc Nicholas), 'Carlton Lodge', Carrowroe, Sligo, and formerly of Carlton Café, Castle Street, Sligo, and Kiltimagh.

She is survived by her husband Peter, sons and daughters Finbarr, Peter, Yvonne, Liam, Denise, Mairéad and Shane, sister Kathleen (Kay) Gilmartin, sons-in-law Michael, Rowan and Cathal, daughters-in-law Geraldine, Ciara, Patricia and Gillian, her 22 cherished grandchildren, brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and many friends, to whom deepest sympathy is tendered.

The deceased was mother of internationally known Westlife star Shane Filan.

Her remains will be reposing at the family home at 'Carlton Lodge', Carrowroe, Sligo, this evening (Monday) from 4 to 8 p.m.

Mass of the Resurrection takes place at 12 noon on Tuesday, in St. Anne’s Church, Sligo, with interment afterwards in Sligo Cemetery.
