€80,000 in funding awarded to Mayo animal welfare groups

THE Minister for Rural and Community Development, Michael Ring, has confirmed that funding of €80,000 has been awarded to local animal welfare organisations in Mayo.
Minister Michael Ring stated: “€80,000 in total has been allocated to four animal welfare organisations in Mayo. These payments will be made with immediate effect.
“This funding will contribute to the protection of surrendered, abandoned and at-risk animals. Animal welfare organisations carry out tremendous work here in Mayo and I am delighted to see this work being recognised and funding being made available to help this excellent work to continue”.
“The staff and volunteers do outstanding work and I would like to take this opportunity to recognise their contribution”.
