Portwest's longest serving employee celebrates 48 years
THE Portwest Long Service Awards saw 52 employees receiving special awards in appreciation of their years of service.
Thirteen of those have been with the company for more than 20 years and one, Kathleen O'Malley, has worked with Portwest for a remarkable 48 years. The directors, brothers Cathal, Harry and Owen Hughes, have accumulated 120 years between them.
Chairman Cathal Hughes was fulsome in his recognition of the Portwest team, saying: “This is a time of celebration for all of us at Portwest as we reach the company’s 115 year anniversary. The success we have enjoyed is only possible through the hard work and dedication of our valued colleagues.
“We are delighted to acknowledge our longest serving employees with the Portwest Long Service Awards.”
The awards were presented as 120 Portwest employees gathered for their Christmas party. In a touching tribute to the directors, the staff turned the tables and presented them with a Leadership Award which they were honoured to accept.
