Dance the night away at relaunched Dolphin

GET your dancing shoes ready as the newly re-launched Dolphin Hotel and Mulhern's Bar & Restaurant, Crossmolina, are set to bring back dancing at the Dolphin by staging a series of Irish country music events in the function room and entertainment venue at the boutique hotel.

The venue is in negotiations to bring some of the biggest Irish country music stars in the business to the venue in the 2020.

They are launching their series of country music nights on New Year’s Day, with Trevor Moyles performing on Wednesday, January 1.

TR Dallas will be at the venue on Saturday, January 4, whilst one of Ireland's hottest country stars, Matthew O'Donnell, will be appearing on Saturday, January 18, with Jason Moyles playing the venue on Saturday, January 25.

The dance-orientated events will continue on a regular basis to help establish the hotel as the go-to venue for Irish country music in north Mayo.

The Dolphin has just had a million euro refurbishment. Now a 10-bed boutique hotel designed by RTÉ TV interior designer Catherine Ruane, from Foxford, the rooms are available just in time to accommodate people coming home for Christmas.

"We are very excited about bringing live entertainment and dance events on a regular basis back to the Dolphin Hotel," said new owners Pat and Mary Mulhern. "With the new hotel rooms now open and the restaurant and bar gaining excellent reviews, it will be an ideal spot for people to come and visit Crossmolina and stay the weekend.

"The function room is an ideal size for weddings and all sorts of live entertainment, and we are looking forward to working with the community to develop its potential as an entertainment venue.

"The hotel is already home to the internationally famous Atlantic Rhythm Dance Productions and the Moffatt School of Irish Dance, and we are looking forward to working with them on future events at the venue. We already stage events for the Crossmolina Festival and Crossmolina Vision 2025, and are looking forward to developing the hotel into a destination venue for entertainment in north Mayo."
