Mayo road closures to facilitate new motorway works

As part of the N5 Westport to Turlough Road Project, Mayo County Council have granted the Wills Bam JV permission to close three local roads to through traffic for a limited period on each to undertake some essential preparation works.

The respective roads and closure details are as listed:

1. Wednesday to Thursday, March 18 to 19, the L5786 Windsor/ Aghaluskey Road. It is anticipated that the road will be reopened to through traffic at about midday on the Thursday.

Access will be maintained to all properties during this period with the road being closed where the new N5 intersects with the existing L5786.

Access will be either via the Aghaluskey Road junction off the N5 or the Windsor Road.

2. Thursday to Friday, March 19-20, the L1711 Keelogues Road. The closure will be to through traffic where the new N5 intersects with the existing L1711 and will commence once the L5786 has been re-opened to traffic.

Access to either side will be via the Moneen Road or the Derrynacross Junction.

3. Monday to Tuesday, March 23 to 24, the L5756 Horsepark Road. The closure to through traffic will be at the Castlebar Rugby Club where the new N5 intersects with the L5756.

Access to either side will be via the Derrywash Road or the N5 Westport Road.
