Vacant general bed numbers at Mayo hospital still rising

THE number of vacant general beds at Mayo University Hospital has increased to 27, according to figures measured by the HSE at the facility yesterday evening.

It's the ninth highest in the county and shows a rise of 25 since last Friday.

There is no change in the number of vacant critical care beds as it remains at two.

Up to 30 Covid-19 cases are being treated at the facility, no change in the space of 24 hours.

The number of confirmed cases has increased by two to 22 and the number of suspected cases has dropped by two to eight.

Two confirmed cases are being treated in the critical care unit along with one suspected case.
