Welcome news as Mayo hospital is now without a single Covid-19 patient
Mayo University Hospital is without a single Covid-19 patient after a long fight against the virus.
The positive news has been announced by the HSE following figures compiled at the Castlebar facility at 8 p.m. last night.
There had been six confirmed cases at the hospital in recent days - but they are no longer in care there, the figures revealed.
It is also the 13th consecutive day that no new suspected cases have been admitted to the centre, a period during which the hospital's ICU has been free of Covid patients.
The number of vacant general beds has increased from 22 to 32 in 24 hours and there are no vacant critical care beds.
