Tony McEntee appointed manager of Sligo senior team

Former Mayo selector Tony McEntee has been appointed manager of the Sligo senior football team. He succeeds Paul Taylor in the role.

Armagh native McEntee, who helped Crossmaglen Rangers to multiple All-Ireland club victories as a player and later as a joint-manager and won an All-Ireland title and a National League medal with his county, has been given a three-year term.

He worked as a selector under Stephen Rochford for Mayo, and he will have another Crossmolina Deel Rovers man, Joe Keane, as his assistant and head coach in Sligo. Sean Boyle will serve as strength and conditioning coach, with another selector yet to be appointed.

Sligo GAA also confirmed that Dessie Sloyan and his management team will remain in charge of the county’s Under 20 side next year.

McEntee's Sligo will be competing against Mickey Harte's Louth in Division 4 of the Allianz National Football League next year following the former Tyrone manager's appointment with the Wee County earlier this week.
