Signage in Mayo's county town 40 years out of date
SOME of the signage in Castlebar is decades out of date.
An audit of the town's signs has been requested by Councillor Ger Deere at a local municipal district meeting.
He highlighted a sign at the bottom of Linenhall Street for 'Castlebar General Hospital', a name that has been gone for 35 or 40 years.
On the Newport Road there is a sign about Castlebar's twinning with Auray, which is in a 'deplorable' condition.
An audit should take place to identify signage which is out of date, he suggested.
