Scheduled Ryanair flights to Liverpool, Luton and Stansted to resume on June 18 from Knock airport

Ireland West Airport Knock has welcomed the announcement that non-essential travel will be permitted from July 19 onwards.

A statement by the airport outlined: "This is welcome news in particular for our diaspora both here and abroad who will be reunited with loved ones after a long period apart.

"Further to this announcement, scheduled flights to Liverpool, London Luton and London Stansted will resume on June 18 with Ryanair.

"Passengers travelling are advised to be aware of the government travel advice and protocols for travelling to and from Ireland up until July 19.

"Government advice to avoid non-essential travel will remain in place until July 18.

"As and from July 19 this will be changed to advise citizens to travel safely and in accordance with public health guidance and restrictions and to avoid non-essential travel to countries to which an emergency brake has been applied."
